JOB DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: DISTRICT WIDE
JOB TITLE: COMPUTER SPECIALIST II / Network Admin
REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education Level: Bachelor's degree with certification in Computer Science preferred.
B. Experience Desired: 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH ENTERPRISE LEVEL INFORMATION SYSTEMS.
C. Benefits and Salary: $18.54 to $19.54 per hour depending on experience. Benefits include employee paid medical, dental, disability and life insurance. Membership in the Arizona State Retirement System and 2 days a month leave. Also includes and additional annual stipend of $2,500 for increased job responsibilities.
C. Physical Requirements: This position requires working in an environment that includes noise, smoke, physical movement, hazardous/harmful light rays from welding equipment, supervision of students, and occasionally outdoor activities.
D. Other Requirements:

- Experinece in electronics, telephone and computer repaired required.
- Intermediate computer knowledge and experience with PC and Mac format, digital and video cameras, LCD's, printers, Smart Board technology, sound enhancement systems, SMART Tables and Boards, document cameras, VOIP, etc
- Familiar with Microsoft Products to include Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Windows XP, also familiar with Script Logic, Advanced Toolware, student management system (Infinite Campus)
- Preference will be given to applicants with additional technology training and/or certification
- Fingerprint clearance required.
- Willingness to learn and seek training opportunities
- Capable of working as a team member with little supervision
- Self-starting, self-motivated, exhibits a positive attitude
- Must have highly effective interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to abide with all District guidelines for employees
- Must be able to lift technology equipment

E. Essential Functions and Duties:
- Install and maintain software
- Troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware
- Assist Technology Director and Computer Services personnel as needed to provide maximum service to district personnel and students.
- Support district office, high school, junior high school, two elementary schools and alternative schools.
- Support all technologies in the school district including the local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN)
- Maintain and analyze network systems for optomum performance.
- Install and upgrade network components as needed.
- Specifies all server, router, networking and switching components for installation, repair and upgrading, as needed.
- Maintain all server, router switching and networking components.
- Configures routers, switches and firewalls as needed to route multiple protocols over the LAN/WAN.
- Maintain network and subnetwork hierarchies utilizing TCP/IP addressing, as well as translation protocols (NAT/PAT)
- Utilize routing and switching for a robust and scalable network.
- Provides a secure networking environment through the use of firewalls, filters, and anti-virus software.
- Support copper (CDDI) fiber optic and wireless media within the LAN/WAN.
- Manage and maintain the district electronic mail system.
- Create and maintain users' accounts throughout the district.
- Determine equipment specifications for integration with the network.
- Maintain domain naming schema for services throughout the zone of authority for the district.
- Install and maintain network driven software.
- Maintain written documentaiton of network devices
- Maintain a network device implementation map on Vision or equivalent software.
- Provide liaison with other agencies and organization including the District
- Technology committee as required
- Provide support and guidance for student interns learning a network environment
- Rapid completion of computer and network systems repair to maintain a viable network environment
- Provide cross training on network systems to Computer Services employee.
- Provide guidance to district personnel for technologty inegration
- Provides network related training to district employees as needed
- Maintain KACE SDA (Create and manage images)
- Other duties as assigned.
