POSITION:
Holbrook Unified School District #3 currently has a BUSINESS MANAGER vacancy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The selected individual must possess the following:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree with major in Accounting or Business Administration, preferred
- A minimum of five years experience working with school or business finance in the capacity of business operations.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card.
- Valid Drivers License
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Follows local, state and federal law and adheres to State Department of Education and Local School Board Policy.
- Supervises the management of the financial affairs of the schools in the district.
- Arranges for and conducts preparation, publication, and distribution of budgets as approved by the Superintendent and Governing Board.
- Communicates budgets and financial operation to the Governing Board.
- Assumes the responsibility for budget development and long-range financial planning for the district by working closely with the superintendent and administrative team.
- Establishes and supervises a program of accounting procedures adequate to record in detail all money and credit transactions.
- Supervises the collection, safekeeping, and distribution of all funds.
- Supervises and evaluates business office personnel.
- Oversees all accounting operations in the District. (Student activities and auxiliary accounts will be reported monthly to the Business manager.)
- Oversees and supervises all payroll functions for the District.
- Manages the district's plant operations and insurance programs.
- Manages all finances pertaining to the district's support services, through the direction of transportation, purchasing, food services and business services.
- Works with the Superintendent to develop a district capital improvement plan.
- Administers a budget control system for the district.
- Acts as advisor to the superintendent on all questions relating to the business and financial affiars of the district.
- Arranges for the internal and external auditing of school accounts.
- Interprets the financial concerns of the district to the Board and community.
- Assists Superintendent in recruiting, hiring, supervising, and evaluating all District office clerical, financial and support personnel.
- Ensures current financial operations of the District are in compliance with the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR).
- Oversees compliance with all audit standards including General Fixed Assets by working with the auditor and other necessary persons to insure compliance.
- Participates in staff meet and confer with professional and support staff.
- Conducts necessary research on wages and salary administration.
- Reviews, approves and codes requisitions submitted to the business office.
- Solicits, reviews and approves bids submitted to the business office.
- Works with human resources on insurance programs, employment positions, and salary and benefits.
- Other duties as assigned.
CONTRACT/COMPENSATION:
The contract is for 12 months. Base salary range is $63,000 - $80,645 dependent upon experience and qualifications. Benefits will be recognized based on Governing Board policy.
