JOB DESCRIPTION

 

DEPARTMENT:           DISTRICT WIDE

JOB TITLE:                 COMPUTER SPECIALIST/ANALYST II

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

A.    Education Level:                Bachelor's degree with certification in Computer Science preferred.

                                                    

B.    Experience Desired:           7 years experience working with enterprise level information systems.

 

C.    Physical Requirements:      This position requires working in an environment that includes noise, smoke, physical movement, hazardous/harmful light rays from welding equipment, supervision of students, and occasionally outdoor activities.

 

D.        Other Requirements:    

    • Experinece in electronics, telephone and computer repaired required.
    • Basic computer knowledge and experience with PC and Mac format, digital and video cameras, LCD's, printers, Smart Board technology, sound enhancement systems, SMART Tables and Boards, document cameras, VOIP, etc
    • Familiar with Microsoft Products to include Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Windows XP, also familiar with Script Logic, Advanced Toolware, student management system (School Master)
    • Preference will be given to applicants with additional technology training and/or certification
    • Fingerprint clearance required.
    • Willingness to learn and seek training opportunities
    • Capable of working as a team member with little supervision
    • Self-starting, self-motivated, exhibits a positive attitude
    • Must have highly effective interpersonal skills
    • Must be willing to abide with all District guidelines for employees
    • Must be able to lift technology equipment
    • Must be able to withstand noisy and odorous environments
    • Other duties as may be assigned.

 

E.      Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Install and maintain software
  • Troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware
  • Assist Technology Director and Computer Services personnel as needed to provide maximum service to district personnel and students.
  • Support district office, high school, junior high school, two elementary schools and alternative schools.
  • Responsibility for Webmaster
  • Manage Galileo Student Assessment System
  • Assume backup responsibility for Network Administration
